Samuel ROCHE is a family business rested by Mister Samuel ROCHE in Saint-Etienne, Loire. At the origin, manufacturer of silk ribbons, Samuel ROCHE gradually directed the development of his production toward the technical straps.

The History of Samuel Roche

1910

Samuel Roche is a family business founded by Mr. Samuel Roche in Saint-Etienne (Loire), France. Originally a manufacturer of silk ribbons, Samuel Roche gradually shifted the focus of its production to technical webbing.

1950

Samuel Roche was one of the first in Europe to use synthetic fibers.

1969

In addition to industrial webbing, Samuel Roche began manufacturing mass-dyed and heat-set seat belt webbing.

1996

Samuel Roche builds a new factory in Chambon Feugerolles, dedicated to the production of seat belt straps. The company also invests in a disperse dyeing machine. This high-performance tool is capable of producing 12 million meters per year.

2007

Samuel ROCHE invests in two new dyeing machines, thereby tripling its production capacity.

2011

Closure of the Chambon Feugerolles seat belt site. After being run by the ROCHE family for three generations, the company is bought out by executives. It is a new beginning with developments increasingly focused on the international market.

In July 2011, Samuel ROCHE opened a new production unit in Tunisia (Bizerte) for weaving, dyeing, and manufacturing single-use slings.

2012

In 2012, Samuel ROCHE diversified and opened a new production unit in Tunisia (Tunis) for the manufacture of elastic braids (Sandow type).

Samuel Roche is moving from its historic premises (rue de la Corre in St Etienne) to a more modern site that is better suited to future challenges. 13,500 m² of production space will enable production capacity to be doubled.
